the "when" of this movie is so disorienting... the old English style boarding school setting with labs filled with computers that look like they can talk to space aliens, the battery
yu's ghost, haunting them like gabe from next to normal or just an unlucky new student actually named kaoru. in every scene, kaoru is wearing a white version of everyone else's school uniforms and sleepwear. so eerie. yu wanted to be like kaoru. beautiful doppelganger tensions were at play here.
